Children and young people are in important part of our church family and we want to help them to come to know and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Guests and visitors are very welcome to join our groups, even it is for just the once.
We are committed to Safeguarding Children, Young People, Victims/perpetrators of Domestic Abuse and Vulnerable Adults. The PCC has adopted the Church of England’s policies and best practice on safeguarding which may be found on the Church of England’s website here.
Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Ann Cooper, who may be contacted at church or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Creche Aged Children
At Emmanuel church, we have a supervised creche available where parents can leave children aged 0 to 2 years old. This is available for babies and toddlers every week apart from in All Age Services.
Apart from the 1st Sunday of the month, children aged 3-10 are welcome to join our Sunday School. The children stay in the service for the first 20 minutes or so and then go out to their group for their own bible teaching, games and activities.
Roughly every 2 months we have an All Age Service (around 1 hour in length) which is interactive and suitable for all ages. All the children stay in the service for entire time. Please check the church calendar to see when the next All Age Service is.
Young people of secondary school age have an opportunity to get together every couple of weeks during term time for a meal, bible study, prayer and laughter at the Rectory. We usually share a meal together before splitting in a younger and older group as we look at the bible together. This is usually from 6.00pm to 8.30pm at 10 Rigby Gardens. See the church calendar for the dates this is taking place.
